SAMPAC - Who We Are
SAMPAC is a committee of individual members whose mission is to encourage physicians to strive for the improvements of government by taking a more active and effective part in political affairs. The mission is to attain pro-medicine candidates for elective offices at all levels of government.
SAMPAC joins the FMA PAC in effectively lobbying and providing political education to physicians and the community through planned events during the year. These events provide education on important issues regarding to our current legislation
OBJECTIVES
1) To promote and strive for the improvement of government by encouraging and stimulating physicians and others to take a more active and effective part in governmental affairs. 2) To encourage physicians and others to understand the nature and actions of their government, as to important political issues, and as to the records of officeholders and candidates for elective office at all levels of government. 3) To assist physicians and others in organizing themselves for more effective political action and in carrying out their civic responsibilities.
MEMBERSHIP
Active membership shall be available to any Doctor of Medicine, his or her spouse, members of his or her immediate family, and other professional groups as authorized by the Board of Directors.
LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY UPDATES
In conjunction with the FMA PAC, SAMPAC provides members with up-to-date information on issues of legislation and regulatory affairs via e-newsletters and personal e-mails.
Sarasota Medical Political Action Committee (SAMPAC) is a voluntary, non-profit, unincorporated Committee of individual Doctors of Medicine and others and is not
affiliated with any political party. The Committee is an independent, autonomous organization and is not a branch or subsidiary of any national or other political
action organization.
